Editorial policy

This page explains who writes AndroidLounge, how a guide gets researched, what we do not claim, and how to get a mistake fixed. For how picks are chosen and why we do not give scores, see How we score.

Who writes AndroidLounge

  • Cooper covers Android apps, software, games and creative apps. He writes about the comparisons that actually help you choose, and when the cheaper option is the sensible one.
  • Aukai covers phones, tablets, wearables and earbuds. He writes about what the specs mean in daily use and when last year’s model is the better buy.
  • Johann covers AI tools, privacy settings and security basics. He writes about what a service actually collects and what a setting really changes.

Every guide names its author.

How a guide is researched

  • Store listings first. Each app or game in a guide is checked against its live Google Play listing: developer, price, in-app purchases, ads and the date of the last update. We link the listing so you can check it too.
  • Maker pages for hardware. Device specs and prices come from the manufacturer’s own product or spec page, or a named retailer listing. Where a price changes often, we say so instead of quoting a number we cannot stand behind.
  • Primary sources for news. When a guide says a product was launched, discontinued or shut down, we link the company’s announcement, or a named publication that reported it.
  • Dated checks. Guides show the month their facts were last checked. A list can go out of date faster than it ranks, so treat that date as part of the advice.

What we do not claim

Unless a guide says otherwise in plain words, we have not run lab tests or benchmarks on the products in it. We do not invent specs, prices, review counts or test results. When a guide relies on what users report in Play Store reviews, it says that this is what reviewers report, not what we measured. If a claim cannot be verified, it is removed.

Independence and affiliate links

Some links on AndroidLounge may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Whether a link earns money has no bearing on whether a product gets recommended or where it appears in a list. Details are in our Disclosure.

Updates and corrections

Apps get pulled, games shut down and prices move. When something in a guide has changed enough to mislead you, we correct the guide and update the checked date, rather than leaving it up unchanged. Older articles that no longer meet this standard get merged into a current guide or removed from search results.

Spotted a mistake, a dead app or a price that has changed? Tell us through the contact page and we will fix it or take the claim out.
